We appreciate the Mayor’s recent cost trimming. We agree with him that our infrastructure has been neglected. But when we study budgets to see what departments were not neglected these past nine years, we find budget bloat that can only be addressed by changing spending priorities.

Newton elected officials have plenty of talent. They are capable people.
What they need most right now, however, are voters demanding reform by denying the overrides. Only spending reform can move Newton forward sustainably for present and future generations.
